About Bridle & Bramble Learning
At Bridle & Bramble Learning, we believe that children learn best when they feel calm, supported, and truly understood.
Set within the natural surroundings of Glebe Farm, our provision offers a different kind of educational experience; one that balances strong academic foundations with the space, time, and environment children need to grow in confidence and independence.
Our Approach
We provide small-group learning for children in Key Stage 2, with an additional focused day for Key Stage 3 learners. Our sessions are designed to complement a wider programme of home education; we collaborate with parents who ultimately remain in control of their child's educational journey.
Each session is carefully structured to include:
High-quality teaching in English and Maths: this may take the form of mixed age-group sessions. Children should expect to collaborate and where possible enjoy practical or workshop-style activities.
Outdoor learning and hands-on experiences: we will make the most of the natural environment and opportunities for experiential learning.
Time with ponies and animals: children will have structured and safe opportunities with our wonderful ponies each day. We have foals from time to time and there is always a lot going on in our stables!
Opportunities to build confidence, resilience, and independence
Our days are thoughtfully planned, but remain flexible, allowing us to respond to the needs of each child and the natural flow of learning.
We believe that education should feel purposeful, engaging, and appropriately challenging, while also allowing children the opportunity to enjoy learning and feel part of the process.
Experienced Leadership
Meet our founder,
Emma Edwards
Bridle & Bramble Learning is led by an experienced former Head of School, with over 20 years in education.
This includes:
Senior leadership in independent schools.
Curriculum design and development.
Supporting children across a wide range of needs, including SEND.
Creating environments where children feel safe, confident, and able to thrive.
This experience ensures that our provision is not only nurturing, but also academically rigorous and thoughtfully structured.
Emma also recently completed her Equine Therapy Practitioner certificate and has grown up with horses.
Learning Through Connection
A distinctive aspect of Bridle & Bramble Learning is the opportunity for children to spend time with ponies and animals.
This is not simply an additional activity, but an integral part of the experience.
Through working with animals, children develop:
- Confidence and self-awareness
- Responsibility and empathy
- A sense of calm and emotional regulation
Alongside this, outdoor learning and time in nature provide valuable opportunities for exploration, creativity, and practical understanding.
A Calm and Supportive Environment
We keep our groups intentionally small so that every child is known, supported, and encouraged.
Many of the children who come to us benefit from:
- A quieter, more personalised setting.
- Time to rebuild confidence.
- A learning environment that feels manageable and positive.
Our aim is to create a space where children feel comfortable being themselves, and where progress; both academic and personal, can take place naturally.
Our Aim
Our aim is simple:
To provide an environment in which children can:
- Build strong academic foundations.
- Develop confidence and independence.
- Re-engage with learning in a positive way.
We believe that when children feel secure, capable, and supported, they are able to thrive not only in their learning, but in themselves.

A Final Thought
At Bridle & Bramble Learning, we offer more than an alternative to traditional education. We are not trying to replace school, we celebrate our differences and are delighted to be part of a wider education, designed and overseen directly by parents.
No one knows a child better than their parents.
We offer a place where children can grow in confidence, develop a love of learning, and begin to believe in their own ability.
Where confidence grows naturally

Meet Our Horses and Ponies
At Glebe Farm, we have some sensible grown up horses and ponies, and we also breed a selection of part-bred and pure-bred arabian horses which we compete with when we are able to, and from time to time we offer a limited number for sale. We breed for temperament first and foremost, as you will see when you meet the team!
